If you are ready to live brave & free and operate out of peace, THIS book is for you!!
OVERVIEW:
THE PATH OF THE INNER JOURNEY TO BECOME CHRISTLIKE. This entire study is based on Jesus’ first and second commandments:
“And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength. This is the first commandment. And the second, like it, is this: "You shall love your neighbor as yourself. There is no other commandment greater than these.” Mark 12:30
In this study you will learn:
1. To love your Lord Jesus at a deeper more intimate level.
2. Love the areas of yourself that you don’t like by embracing the hidden gifts in them.
3. Love others with a deeper compassion than ever before.
Becoming Christ-like is not a destination; it is the beginning of a journey whose goal is to be one with Christ. In Jeanne Guyon’s book, “Experiencing the Depths of Jesus Christ”, she refers to this as “Divine Union”.
1 Cor. 3:23 (MSG), “you are privileged to be in union with Christ, who is in union with God."
This means experiencing the Kingdom of God within and reaching the full potential of who God intended you to be.
Luke 17:21b "For indeed the Kingdom of God is within you."
This path requires a steadfastness and determination to go after Jesus as your first love and to walk out the original calling for your life.
1 Peter 1:18 "Your life is a journey you must travel with a deep consciousness of God." (MSG.)
Psalm: 139:16b "And in your book they were written all the days fashioned for me."
This is a very courageous path; but a necessary one.
In this teaching manual, I lay out some clear guidelines to help you with your sacred walk with your Lord. In the Overview I have given a brief list of what you will be learning to take you to a deeper experience of Jesus Christ’s love for you. We will cover each point in depth as the weeks go on.
1. FULL SURRENDER: This path requires you to make a full surrender to Jesus as Lord of your life. You need to die daily to the False Self so you may know your True Self which He created you to be; 1 Cor. 15:31, “I affirm by boasting in you which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily.”
2. MEDITATION: This journey requires a life of meditating on His Word. (To ponder or imagine. Strongs 1897)
Joshua 1:8a “This Book of theLaw shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it."
3. FREEDOM: This also requires you to become aware of the lies you believe that are holding you back from true intimacy with your Lord. You then need to replace them with God’s truth. I call these lies your “False Beliefs.” They also block knowing your true identity in Christ.
The rewards and promises of God are more satisfying than anything you can experience this side of heaven. My prayer for you is that you experience all He has for you while on this earth.
Results of dedicating your life to the inward journey of becoming Christlike: Abiding in His intimate presence
John 15:7-8 “If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.”
John 15:9 “As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love.”
John 15:10 “If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.”
Experiencing Jesus’ overwhelming love.
John 4:14 “But whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.”
This is about you being personally filled. (Note that “springing up” is a continuing supply of Jesus’ love.)
John 7:38 "He who believes in Me as the scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” Notice that “rivers” is plural, possibly referring to the seven spirits of God, which are the seven expressions or functions of the Holy Spirit. The seven spirits represent the sevenfold ministry as illustrated in Isaiah 11:2. “The Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel, and might, the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord.”
Knowing Your True Identity in Christ:
This is the key to walking into the destiny that He has specifically designed and planned just for you. You were made for a purpose here on earth that no one else can fulfill. His word tells us, “It’s in Christ that you find out who you are and what you are living for.” Eph. 1:11 (MSG) As you continue a daily surrender of your will, He guides you into the plan He has designed because “He wanted us to enter into the celebration of His lavish gift-giving by the hand of His beloved Son.” Eph. 1:6 (MSG)
Psalms 139:16 (MSG) “The days of my life all prepared before I’d even lived one day.”
Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV) “For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
